Best of Days narrowly lost their second-set win in the Real Way Stakes on Saturday in Ascot, Perth, Western Australia.

The former England trainer, who scored the best result in his career at the Cantala Stakes G1 in Melbourne last spring, looked set to win in the last 100 meters but narrowly lost in the final steps of local regal Power.

The Best of Days set off from an inappropriate gate in this race, but thanks to the excellent driving of knight Brad Rowler, it was well positioned 100 meters from the 1,600-meter race.

Turning straight, Best of Days and Panther ran on an empty track, catching the lead in the last 200 meters and snatching the lead immediately afterwards.

Best of Days won the Royal Lodge Stakes G2 at Newmarket while training under the supervision of Hugo Palmer, ran 14 times in Australia and won the G3, in addition to winning the first category.
