Hartnell's biography, which has attracted the attention of the racing fans and made him a hero for everyone who worked with him, will be unveiled on Saturday at the McKinnon Stakes G1 final.

No other horse is more popular in Australian races than Hartnell, there are few horses that have a record comparable to what the horse has made in this country in contemporary history, and its ten victories in the races rated no other horses at Godolphin ever.

Coach James Cummings said: "This horse translated the natural meaning of the horse race in the concept of Godolphin.

"He has long been Godolphin's best horse in Australian races.

"He retains 13 wins and has taken forward in 22 other races. It's a rare record."

Four of Hartnell's victories in the first category were achieved at distances from 1,400 meters to 2,400 meters. Had it not been for the heroine horse, Winx, who had runner-up four times, the tally would have been higher.

Saturday's race is no less ferocious than any other race that Hartnell (Hugh Baumann) has been in this season. And Suzuka Devias' among others.

Coach Cummings, however, seems confident that Hartnell will do his best.

"He has an amazing ability to shine in major races," he said.

Hartnell heads for McKinnon Stakes with $ 7.3 million in prize money and with a $ 1.2 million offer to the winner, the horse has an opportunity to raise its financial gains to a higher level.

"It would be a perfect end to this part of the story and it would be a fine race to win, but certainly he was supposed to take a closer position at Caulfield Cup, so he wouldn't be in awe."

Hartnell will remain Godolphin's owner for the rest of his life and will be one of the small group sponsored by Melbourne's chief politician, Reg Fleming.

Cummings, who worked on Hartnell's final engagement, spoke of some of the horse's achievements, which he described as having risen to a higher level for several considerations.

He said: "It is characterized by its interesting style compared to our other horses.

"Not the fastest horses, not outstanding in training, not fleeing strength, not the smallest of our horses, and there is no reason to think that this horse is the best.

"But he certainly has a character and a presence rarely seen in racing horses.

"Flexibility and quality are visible and able to adapt to different environments and enjoy the stable environment.

"He has evolved in all his preparatory experiments and has been a very amazing horse.

"He is perhaps the most successful weight-for-life horse of all the Godolphin horses involved in Australian races, all thanks to the horse itself."
