Arabian horses and Islamic conquest

 

The Islamic conquests play a major role in spreading of Arabian horses in the east and west and recognizing their advantages of strength, speed, beauty and harmony among its organs, where these conquests reached Iraq, El-Sham, Persia, Egypt, Spain, France, Turkey and China. The Arabs brought with them their pure horses, and began to Mating with the Egyptian breed and the breeds from other countries that they conquest.

The horses occupied a special place by the Arabs and the interest increased after the emergence of Islam, and it was mentioned in The Holy Quran and the Hadith what shows its virtue and status at Allah and His Messenger and with the Arabs and Muslims. The Arabs in the Jahiliyyah were connected to the horses for their virtue and honour, When Islam came, God commanded His Prophet to take it and associate it, So the Prophet of God took horses and their association in the way of God, , And He was impressed by it and urged them to be associated to Muslims individuals and groups.

God honoured horses; where it was mentioned in several places of the Koran, and considered them from the sources of power and joy and the enjoyment of this life, God says in his great book:

﴿زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ الشَّهَوَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ وَالْبَنِينَ وَالْقَنَاطِيرِ الْمُقَنْطَرَةِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ وَالْخَيْلِ الْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَالأَنْعَامِ وَالْحَرْثِ ذَلِكَ مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَاللَّهُ عِنْدَهُ حُسْنُ الْمَآبِ﴾

﴿وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُمْ مَّا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَمِنْ رّبَاطِ الْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِ عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ وَآخَرِينَ مِنْ دُونِهِمْ لا تَعْلَمُونَهُمُ اللَّهُ يَعْلَمُهُمْ وَمَا تُنْفِقُوا مِنْ شَيْءٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ يُوَفَّ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ لا تُظْلَمُونَ﴾

﴿وَالْخَيْلَ وَالْبِغَالَ وَالْحَمِيرَ لِتَرْكَبُوهَا وَزِينَةً وَيَخْلُقُ مَا لا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴾

﴿وَوَهَبْنَا لِدَاوُدَ سُلَيْمَانَ نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ 30 إِذْ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ بِالْعَشِيِّ الصَّافِنَاتُ الْجِيَادُ 31 فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَحْبَبْتُ حُبَّ الْخَيْرِ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّي حَتَّى تَوَارَتْ بِالْحِجَابِ 32 رُدُّوهَا عَلَيَّ فَطَفِقَ مَسْحًا بِالسُّوقِ وَالأَعْنَاقِ33﴾

﴿وَالْعَادِيَاتِ ضَبْحًا (1) فَالْمُورِيَاتِ قَدْحًا (2) فَالْمُغِيرَاتِ صُبْحًا (3) فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِ نَقْعًا (4) فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِ جَمْعًا﴾

 

As stated in the Prophet's Hadith and many sayings, which encourages honouring horses and taking care of them and encourage them to owning them:

 

It is narrated that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allaah, is there any horse in Paradise?" The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "God has admitted you to Paradise. You do not want to be carried by a horse of red rubies to fly you in paradise where you want." He said, "O Messenger of Allaah, O Messenger of Allah, is there a camel in Paradise?" He said: He did not say to him what he said to his companion, he said: God will admitted  you to paradise where you have what you craved yourself and your eye.

 

He said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to her: What is this? She said: My daughters, he said: What is this that I see in their midst?She said: a horse He said: "What is this?"She said: Two wings , He Said: A horse  and have two wings She said: didn't you hear that Solomon the son of David peace be upon them had horses with wings , She said: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, laughed until his teeth appeared.

 

It was said: There was no Arabian horse authorized to it magic words to call Oh God you authorized me to whom you authorized from Adam's sons and make me the most loved family and money to him or make me one of the most beloved family and money to him.

 

It was said: Horse are three, horse committed by the man in the way of God Almighty its price is a reward, riding it is a reward and taking care of it is a reward, a man was gambling on a horse and betting on its price is misdeed and riding it is misdeed,  and a horse of the lining may be a repayment of poverty, God willing.

 

And he said: The horse is three: a horse for the merciful, and a horse for the devil, and a horse for the human, As for god's horse; the one who is associated in the way of god؛ its feeding , dung and urine in his balance, as for the horse of the devil, is who gambles or bet on it, As for the human horse, the horse is associated to the human seeking her stomach; it is a cover of poverty.

 

It is narrated that on the day of Badr, the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) looked at the polytheists and they were a thousand, and his companions were three hundred and nineteen men. Then he stretched out his hands and started praising his Lord (O Allah! Do me what you promised me, O God; give me what you promised me, O God, if you destroyed this gang by the people of islam, you will be worshiped on earth). He still prays to his Lord, raising his hands, the direction of the qiblah, until his apparel fell from his shoulders. Abu Bakr came to him. He took his apparel and threw it on his shoulders. Then he embrace him from behind. He said: O Prophet of God! Such is your appeal to your Lord. It will accomplish to you what you promised. Then God revealed the Almighty:

{إذ تستغيثون ربكم فاستجاب لكم أني ممدكم بألف من الملائكة مردفين}

God gave him the angels. Abu zamil said: Ibn Abbas said to me, "While a Muslim man was growing stronger in the footsteps at capturing a polytheist in front of him. He heard a whip hit him. The voice of the knight says: progress haizum. He looked at the polytheist in front of him then he fell down.he looked at him and he found that his nose was broken, and cut his face like a whip strike.

In the saheeh of Jarir ibn 'Abd-Allaah said: I saw the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) Twist the horse' foretop with his finger. He said: The horse is tied to its good intentions until the Day of Resurrection.

In addition, he said the blessing is in the foretop of the horses.

It was narrated that Alwadin bin Atta said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Do not lead horses with foretop, to humiliated her".

Makhaul said: The Messenger of Allah peace be upon him said: honour the horses and glorify them.

He said: "Do not take the back of your horses as pulpits, Allah has made it for you, to bring you to a country where you have not reached before but hard-earned, and made the land for you to spend your needs.

On the authority of Ali, he said: I gave the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) with a mule, and he rode it. Ali said: If we carried the donkeys on the horses, and we had such? The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Those who do not know do that.

It was narrated that Abu Umaamah said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: reproach the horses because it reproach,means: make them polite, and led to war and ride, they are polite, and accept reproach.

Narrated Ibn Saad said: The Messenger of Allah peace be upon him: spending on horses in the way of God is like opening your hand with charity and never close it.

That the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came out one night, while he was wiping the face of his horse with his robe. He said that Jibril had admonish me about the horses yesterday.

The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: clean the horses because if you clean just his ears you will have recompense.
