  • The rules and conditions issued by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) Racing Qualifiers as of 2009

 

 

 

  • First: Horse ages:

The horses must be at least 5 years old to be called a beginner to participate in local qualifying races.

For  single and double international endurance contests, horses must be at least 6 years old to be able to participate.

For triple events, horses must have at least 7 years to be able to participate.

As for quadrennial events and endurance matches for official international contestant tournaments, horses must be at least 8 years old.

As for pregnant ponies, if the pregnancy is more than 120 day or the feet are swollen, it is not allowed to enter any international endurance contest or any higher event.

Ages are calculated from the date on which these horses are considered qualified to participate in the contest and those ages must be confirmed by a documented records or obtaining the written veterinarian's opinion, which may be registered in the passports. The horses born in the Northern Hemisphere celebrate their birth on 1 January, while horses born in the Southern Hemisphere celebrate their birth on 1 August.

 

 

  • Second: Mandatory rest period for horses:

After completing in the international double endurance tournaments or any contest mentioned above, the horse must be given a minimum of 20 days rest before, it becomes qualified again in the international double endurance tournaments or any contest mentioned above.

 

If a horse is excluded for a metabolic problem in any of the international endurance tournaments, the horse must be given a minimum of 30 days rest before becoming qualified again for any of the international endurance tournaments.

 

If a horse has been excluded for a metabolic reason during two consecutive international endurance tournaments or twice in a three month, it must be given a 40 days' rest before being qualified again for contests in the international endurance tournaments.

 

The FEI Technical board may report on making a supplementary schedule for additional requirements for the rest period for horses suffering from sequential exclusions for metabolic reasons, in consultation with the FEI Veterinary board and the report on other requirements attached in Annex.

 

Compulsory rest period for horses after participating in races and before participating in any international race as follows:

 

    In case of crossing a distance of (0-80) km (13 days rest) the initial qualification standards: is determined by members of the national union.

In case of crossing a distance of (80 and more) km (13 days rest).

 

Third: Qualification procedures and ability certificates:

     Requires both the cavalier and the horse, and is not required to be jointly

 To successfully complete two rounds of distances between 40-79 km and two other distances from distances of 80-90 km and 16 km or less; or alternatively,

To successfully complete 3 rounds of 80-89 km and at a speed of 16 km per hour or less

 

On both the cavalier and the horses to complete the requirements for the qualification phase during the estimated duration of 24 months to qualify for participation in the FEI contests.

 

Qualifying standards for International Endurance round contests: to be determined according to FEI records and database, as evidenced by all members of the National union.

 

All horses and cavalier must successfully complete all the initial qualifying standards in order to be qualified for international endurance tournaments.

 

Requires both the cavalier and the horse, and is not required to be jointly, to successfully complete the FEI Contests so that they will be qualified to complete the competition, starting by passing successfully to Level 1, accordingly they become qualified for the groups' category.

 

Fourth: International Racing distances:

   Monotheism (1 *): From 80 to 119 km in one day

(Required heart rate: 64 beat / min)

Upon passing, the horses and cavalier are entitled to participate in the bilateral races

Binary (2 *): from 120-139 km in one day or

From 70-89 km in two days

(Required heart rate: 64 beat / min)

Upon passing, the horses and cavalier are entitled to participate in the triathlon

Trilogy (3 *): from 140-160 km in one day or

From 90-100 km in two days or

From 70-80 km in three days

(Required heart rate: 64 beat / min)

Upon passing, the horses and cavalier are allowed to participate in the quad races

Quartet (4 *) 160 km in one day for official international competitions and tournaments or

From 120-130 km in one day for youth and international youth and international championships

(Required heart rate: 64 beat / min).

  

Quartet tournaments:

   The horses have passed the qualification processes described above for the primary qualification standers and qualification standers for international endurance tournaments, including the distance of the event for which the ability certificate is issued.

The horses have successfully completed three or more contestants of bilateral international endurance tournaments.

At least one of the 3 international endurance tournaments according to the same distance, The minimum speed limit and time frame for the world quadriplegic championship and that it should not be achieved before 24 months, Not later than 60 days, Closing the nomination entries for the tournament and To be done on a double basis includes the candidate cavalier, that the contestants have passed the qualification processes described above regarding the preliminary qualification criteria and qualification criteria for international endurance tournaments, including the distance of the event for which the ability certificate is issued.

The contestant must successfully complete 5 rounds of the international endurance tournaments or more.

At least one of Contests (5 contests) for international endurance tours according to the same distance, the minimum speed limit and the time frame of the world quadriplegic championship and not to do so 24 months before, and no later than 60 days, Closing the nomination entries for the tournament and To be done on a double basis includes the candidate horse.

 

Records and evidence of qualifications: Records of the contenders 'and horses' results must be submitted into the FEI database and passports as required. However, the total and exclusive responsibility for the records and documents rests with each member of the National Union.
