Endurance racing is one of the toughest horse races, It requires a horse to complete the race at the highest levels in distances of up to 160 kilometers, and the 160 km winners pass this distance in 10-12 hours and allow any breed of horse to compete in the race, However, the Arabian horse race dominates the top races because of its outstanding fitness and natural durability to complete the race.

The endurance race consists of distances and roads with varied terrain during races in the desert where the horse passes more than one veterinary checkpoint during which a test of heart rate, respiratory capacity and dehydration, Participating horses must pass each point successfully in order to cross to the next point to the final examination to determine the official time to pass the final line, Any horse who fails to pass the examination is excluded. It is essential that the riders have a thorough knowledge of the horse's health status and note any exhaustion of the horse during the race.

The rules for winning a race vary from country to country and in some countries, Winning places depends on the speed of the rider and the health condition of the horse. In other countries, There are no centers and have a win for the knight or horse that meets the required criteria.

The Asian Games endurance race was first introduced at the Asian Games in Doha in 2006.

Endurance races are held in Qatar for youth groups and adults, Races for young riders are usually organized for 60 kilometers and 80 kilometers, The adults take part in the 80km, 100km and 160km races.
